Since our products are developed for infant use, we use strict quality control and have extensively researched our FDA approved, North American made and socially responsible materials. We have followed ASTM standards and have passed the new CPSIA 3rd party testing for small parts. We keep a record of all MSDS certificates from our suppliers. All these documents are availble by request. Moreover, when you buy a HeartString Baby's Companion (HeartString BC) you can also be assured that your packaging has a fully compliant barcode with our complete company details and product data.

HeartString Baby's Companion provides a breastfeeding and parenting aid that is a safe, effective and fashionable alternative to jewelry, "made-in-China" pacifiers, traditional teethers, those dirty car keys, grandma's glasses, and other items potentially harmful to your child.

Important safety considerations

  • The unique break-away clasp was custom designed and tested with young children in mind. The lanyard (necklace) will release if pulled harder than 4lbs and can easily be re-attached. In addition to being safe, it is comfortable for the wearer.
  • The materials used for the 2-part HeartString Pendant and break-away Clasp are tested non-toxic and are FDA approved.
  • HeartString BC Does NOT contain BPA, PVC, Latex, Lead, Fabric Dyes or Phthalates.
  • Our select materials are more environmentally friendly than many plastics (low on green peace pyramid of plastics) as our main supplier is ISO 14001 2004, certified.  A standard for Environmental Management Systems (View Video)
  • The custom, made-in-USA lanyard and made-in-Canada carry pouch are un-dyed cotton. Cotton is washable, comfortable and has a low tendency to cause allergic reactions. Yes, this means the cording is even safe for your little one to mouth!
  • We enclose an information sheet on how to use the product, safety precautions, child development information and company information.

We believe in being socially responsible and are sensitive to creating products that are as environmentally friendly as we can make them. Specifically:

  • Most of our promotional materials and packaging are 100% post consumer waste and recyclable
  • Though we feel we have the best available materials, in the future, we will continue to review material advancements
  • Our packaging is 100% recyclable
  • Our store displays are designed and made locally (NS, Canada) and are re-usable.
